Justine presents to student midwives at the University of Suffolk
Our founder Justine, was invited by Lecturer in Midwifery and Deputy Course Leader Jayne Marie to present to student midwives at the University of Suffolk.
Jayne asked Justine to share with over 40 students the valuable work she does in the baby loss space. The cohort of students were those doing the long and shortened midwifery programmes.
The session lasted for 90 minutes with the aim to help open the students eyes to bereavement from the perspective of the woman and her family and intended to set them on the ideal path on how best to support parents in the loss of their child during pregnancy.
Justine said: “ It was a privilege to be asked by Jayne to present to the student midwives all about my experience as a bereaved mother, the care I received from health professionals and the fantastic work we as a charity are doing for local bereaved families.”
“"Pregnancy and baby loss remains a difficult and often taboo subject, but raising awareness is essential to encouraging open conversations. I appreciated the opportunity to share my experiences with the student midwives, who listened with genuine care and interest. It was clear that they truly want to support families in the best way possible, and I hope our discussion helps them feel more prepared to do so."
